Facts on Emergencies:
Research supports the common sense notion that getting prompt help makes surviving an emergency more likely. The ability to get help also boosts the odds that a senior will continue to live independently. The longer a person spends helpless, the greater the likelihood he/she will be discharged into supportive care. For elderly people who live alone, becoming incapacitated and unable to get help is a common event, which usually marks the end to their ability to live independently. (New England Journal of Medicine)
Facts on Senior Citizens:
As the oldest baby boomers become senior citizens in 2011, the percentage of people 65 and older is projected to grow faster than any other age group. In fact, 26 states are projected to double their 65+ and-older populations between 2000 and 2030.

Customer Viewpoint:
Betty C. New Orleans, LA
4 months ago I was given a new chance at life. Living on my own for the past few years since my husband passed away has been more difficult for me. My family lives about 30 minutes away, but it may as well be across the country sometimes with how often I get to see my children and grandkids…but I still love every one of them to pieces. It’s getting harder for me to climb up and down all the stairs recently. The apartment I live in is on the 3rd floor of a building without an elevator, so when I have to go out, that’s a lot of stairs for me. For the past few years it’s really kept me from going out for fear I may fall again. My daughter came over the other night, and bought me the Guardian Alert 911. I told her I don’t know much about the new technology things, but she set up the medial alert for me in a few minutes and told me all I had to do was push the button around my neck if I needed help. I’m so glad she did. A few weeks ago, I fell on the steps. It was raining and I probably shouldn’t have been wearing those flats anyway. After a few moments, I remembered the button around my neck. I pushed it. I didn’t hear anything, but in a few minutes my daughter and son-in-law was there with some ambulance people to take me to the hospital. Lucky for me, I just had a few black and blue bruises. I don’t know how long I could have been laying there before someone came to my help if not for the Guardian Alert 911 from your company. Thank you for helping my daughter pick out the right product for me.
