FAQ on Mobile DVR Q: What is the resolution of the recorded file? A: Effective pixel under NTSC format is 510 X 492; under PAL is 500 X 582. The optimal viewing resolution is 320 X 240. Q: Will the power wire hang in front of my window, obstructing vision? A: No. You can simply run the wire along the molding of your dash and into your DC outlet. The wire is long enough to be hidden in this manner. Q: Can I Hardwire This? A: Yes. However, we would suggest bringing this to a company which installs car alarms or someone familiar with car wiring. Q: Does it automatically start recording? A: There is an external on/off switch on the power supply, when this switch is at the on position, it will be synchronized with the start of the engine for most cars. For some cars, the cigarette lighter power is always on and in this case, the power of the unit need to be controlled by the external switch. Please refer to your vehicle manual for specific configurations. Q: What happens when the memory of the flash card is full? Do I need to manually delete all the recorded files before I can record new files? A: The recording is continuous and will not stop. It will automatically index the oldest file and make room for the current recording. There is a manual card format function that we recommend you to format once in a while to keep the operation seamless. Q: How does the auxiliary camera for the rear view works? A: The rear view camera needs a second source of power such as the same source for the back up signal light. When vehicle is in reverse, it powers on the rear view auxiliary camera and the video signal will over take the signal from the front view built-in camera for the duration as the car is in reverse. Basically the second camera input will get recording piority when it has power. If there is no power in the second camera input, then the built-in camera will record. The unit can only record one camera at a time. Q: Do you provide service to install this feature? A: No, we provide all the parts necessary to facilitate the DIY. Q: We are in limo business and would like to monitor our customer service, how do we achieve that with your product? A: The built-in audio recording can take care of the audio part when the rear view auxiliary camera can be used in the car for this application. However, you need to power split from the cigarette lighter and provide power to this camera so it is always on. Some custom electrical work need to be carried out. Q: Is there any plan on introducing a two channel recording so both the front and the back can be recorded? A: We have no immediate plan on doing this. However, as the customers demand for this feature gets higher, we will seriously consider moving in that direction. Q: Can the recorded file be played on the unit or do we need to take the flash card out and play in on computer? A: Both. you can play in on the unit, play it on the computer with USB cable (not included) or through flash card drive. Q: What is the view angle of the camera? A: Around 75 degree. Q: What if the accident happen on the sides or rear end of the car? How do you account for that? A: For accidents happen on your sides and rear end, 95% of the time it is someone else's fault. For accident happen in front of you, 95% of the time it is your fault. Therefore, having camera in front is the best approach to prove your innocence if you are in the right. Q: Can this unit fit on to my car? I have a Audi A6. A: This product come with universal clamping mechanism design to fit on all rear view mirror. If this item does not fit onto your car, please let us know and we will published it to our distributors. Q: How long is the recording time in the included 1 Gig flash SD memory card? A: It depends on the lighting condition and the color, complexity of the back ground, and can go up to 1 hour of recording time. Then the oldest video/audio will be overwritten for continuous recording.
