Losing track of a child is one of the most terrifying experiences for a parent, but recent advances in child safety technology give families an option to prevent the loss of a child, or even recover a lost child. Recently the parents of West Virginia boy who had been abducted by a relative was granted a GPS Tracker by local authorities, since they were unable to prosecute the relative based on a technicality.
Three months later the boy was missing again, and within three hours, the authorities were able to find the child, arrest the abductor and finally able to gain a conviction. An FBI special investigator who wished to remain anonymous explained, "If most families dealing with custody issues had a device like the P-Trac with their children at all times, the statistics of children that are the victims of family abductions would be cut in half at least."

Parents using the P-Trac to keep track of their children are able to log onto their accounts online from any computer with internet access and track their children's whereabouts on the spot instantly or on a schedule. "A majority of the success stories where a missing child is recovered has been in scenarios where the child was in possession of a child safety tracking device such as a P-Trac," said the FBI source in conclusion.
