The TS-EC1680U R2 16-Bay Unified NAS Enclosure from QNAP quickly takes care of your enterprise data storage needs by featuring two 10GbE SFP+ ports and 16 bays, which can each house a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA III hard drive or SSD. This enclosure sports a dual-core 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3-4150 processor and 8GB of DDR3 non-ECC memory to run iSCSI and virtualization applications as well as the QTS operating system. You can configure your drives in a RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, or 10 modes to enhance the drive's reads and writes while preserving data in the event a drive fails. To increase I/O throughputs, QNAP has outfitted this enclosure with two mSATA slots so you can install flash modules for caching data. Additionally, four Gigabit Ethernet ports are on board to serve many simultaneous connections.
