The 8-Bay Thunderbolt 2 Turbo vNAS is designed for Mac users running 4K workflows, file storage, and high-speed sharing. It is a high-performance Thunderbolt 2 DAS/NAS/iSCSI SAN multi-mode storage solution in a compact ATX form factor. It helps prevent the restriction of a DAS connecting to only one device and helps lower the cost of 10GbE network environments. Attaching the TVS-871T to your Mac using a Thunderbolt 2 cable makes it accessible in the Finder, while its Thunderbolt & Ethernet dual networking capabilities help simultaneously share files across multiple devices using SMB/CIFS, NFS and AFP protocols for sharing across Windows, Mac, and Linux/UNIX networks.
The TVS-871T-i7-16G-US also supports simultaneous 4K video transfers and displays. It runs the QTS operating system and is well suited for the creating and use of a personal cloud so you can access your data from anywhere. It is powered by a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i7-4790S Quad-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple functions simultaneously and features a burst speed of up to 4.0 GHz. The built-in 16GB of DDR3 RAM will not only allow quick access to frequently used files and programs but also helps to ensure efficient multitasking. Network connectivity can be achieved using either the 2 x 10GbE ports or 4 x 1GbE ports.
This 8-bay enclosure has the ability to house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III hard drives and SSD drives. The screws are included to accommodate both drive sizes. In addition to its dual Thunderbolt 2 ports, it is also equipped with 3 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x USB 2.0 ports. Also supported are SSD caching and four combinations with Macs and JBOD for flexible attaching, sharing, and expansion (Mac+JBOD, Mac+Mac, Mac+NAS, and JBOD+JBOD).
