Support: Locate GPS Notification Condition Types and Combination Rules
A notification can use one or more conditions to decide when it should be triggered. This guide explains the available condition types and how they work together with logical operators such as AND and OR.
Condition Types
Notification conditions are grouped by category.
Unit Location
These conditions are based on where the unit is located:
- Address
- Geofence entry
- Geofence exit
- Unit proximity
Speed Control
These conditions track speed and movement:
- Custom speed range
- Inactivity
- Road speed limits
Sensors and Parameters
These conditions monitor sensor activity and parameter values:
- Alarm
- Digital input
- Sensor range
- Sensor value
- Parameter state
Fuel and Energy
These conditions monitor fuel and battery activity:
- Battery charging
- Fuel drain
- Fuel filling
Connectivity
This condition checks the device connection:
- Connection status
Data Transmission
These conditions monitor communication and messaging:
- Health status
- SMS
- Message limit
RFID Tags
These conditions track RFID identification:
- Trailer assignment
- Driver assignment
- No driver assigned
- Passenger assignment
- Passenger not separated
Other Conditions
Additional monitoring options:
- Maintenance
- Route activity
How Conditions Can Be Combined
A notification can include up to three conditions.
Some conditions can be combined, while others must be used alone.
Conditions That Can Be Combined
The following conditions can work together:
- Address
- Geofence entry
- Geofence exit
- Unit proximity
- Custom speed range
- Inactivity
- Road speed limits
- Alarm
- Digital input
- Sensor range
- Sensor value
- Parameter state
- Battery charging
- Fuel drain
- Fuel filling
- Connection status
- No driver assigned
Important Rules:
- If you use Battery charging, Fuel drain, Fuel filling, Connection status, or Inactivity with other conditions, select one of these first.
- No driver assigned cannot be used as the first condition. It can only be added as the second or third condition.
Conditions That Cannot Be Combined
These conditions must be used by themselves in a notification:
- Health status
- SMS
- Message limit
- Trailer assignment
- Driver assignment
- Passenger assignment
- Passenger not separated
- Maintenance
- Route activity
Using Three Conditions
You can combine up to three conditions in one notification.
When three conditions are used, the system always checks the first two conditions first, then applies the third:
(Condition 1 OP1 Condition 2) OP2 Condition 3
- OP1 = operator between Condition 1 and Condition 2
- OP2 = operator between the result and Condition 3
If All Operators Are the Same
AND + AND
All three conditions must be true.
OR + OR
Any one of the three conditions can trigger the notification.
Mixed Operator Examples
OR then AND
Formula: (A OR B) AND C
Trigger:
Condition C must be true, and either A or B must also be true.
Example:
(Geofence entry OR Speed above 80 km/h) AND Ignition ON
Result:
The notification triggers when the ignition is ON, and either:
- the unit enters the geofence, or
- the speed is above 80 km/h
AND then OR
Formula: (A AND B) OR C
Trigger:
Both A and B must be true together, or C can trigger it by itself.
Example:
(Geofence exit AND Speed above 80 km/h) OR Ignition OFF
Result:
The notification triggers when either:
- the unit exits the geofence and is traveling above 80 km/h, or
- the ignition is OFF
