The QNAP 2U 8-Bay iSCSI NAS Intel Core i5 (8GB RAM) has the ability to house both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III and SATA II hard drives or SSD drives. To support both drive formats, screws are included to accommodate each drive size. The TVS-871U-RP-i5-8G can reach a throughput of up to 3,300+ MB/s and 172,000+ IOPS. Using the four external USB 3.0 and four 2.0 ports, this QNAP NAS can be connected to other QNAP devices as well as other external drives. Internally, there are two mSATA ports for on-board read caching using separately sold mSATA flash modules.
The TVS-871U-RP-i5-8G follows a 2U rackmount form factor and is powered by a 3.0 GHz Intel Core i5-4590S Quad-Core processor, which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. The built-in 8GB of DDR3 RAM will allow quick access to frequently-used file and programs and may be upgraded to 32GB. While network connectivity is achieved using the four Gigabit Ethernet ports, the TVS-871U-RP-i5-8G can be expanded to have a total of eight Gigabit Ethernet ports. It is also 10GbE ready and can be upgraded with four 10GbE ports and four 1GbE ports by installing an optional dual-port 10GbE and 1GbE network card. This NAS also supports JBOD and a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, which offer data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both.
